Bitchology

When I stand up for myself and my beliefs, they call me a bitch.

When I stand up for those I love, they call me a bitch.

When I speak my mind, think my own thoughts or do things my own way, they call me a bitch.

Being a bitch means I won't compromise what's in my heart. It means I live my life MY way. It means I won't allow anyone to step on me.

When I refuse to tolerate injustice and speak against it, I am defined as a bitch.

The same thing happens when I take time for myself instead of being everyone's maid, or when I act a little selfish.

It means I have the courage and strength to allow myself to be who I truly am and won't become anyone else's idea of what they think I 'should' be.

I am outspoken, opinionated and determined. I want what I want and there is nothing wrong with that!

So try to stomp on me, try to douse my inner flame, try to squash every ounce of beauty I hold within me.
You won't succeed.

And if that makes me a bitch, so be it.
I embrace the title and am proud to bear it.

Isn't it sad

I don't know where this quote came from, but I think we can all relate to it in some way:

"It's sad when people you know become people you knew. When you can walk right past someone like they were never a big part of your life, & how you used to be able to talk for hours, & now you can barely even look at them. I don't understand how you can smile all day long but cry yourself to sleep at night. How pictures never change, but the people in them do. How your best friend can become your worst enemy. It's happened to all of us at one time or another. And I'm sure that we've all done it to someone at some point (perhaps without even realizing it). We weave in and out of people's lives. Sometimes this weaving creates beautiful art. Other times, it tangles and the threads break. And sometimes it creates amazing art only to fall apart later on because the threads were weak.

It's up to us to accept when these threads break. And it's up to us to appreciate when they don't. I think we need to remember that everything has it's time. Like the song says "to everything turn, turn, turn".

I accept. I even realize that it's for the best. But it's still sad.

Morales from a Pile of Shit

Thank you, Laruft, for sharing this with me last night.

Once upon a time, there was a non-conforming sparrow who decided not to fly south for the winter. However, soon the weather turned so cold that he reluctantly started to fly south.

In a short time ice began to form on his wings and he fell to earth in a barnyard. Almost frozen, a cow passed by and crapped on the little sparrow. The sparrow thought it was the end. But, the manure warmed him and defrosted his wings. Warm and happy, able to breathe, he started to sing. Just then, a large cat came by and hearing the chirping, investigated the sounds. The cat cleared away the manure, found the chirping bird and ate him.

Morals to the Story

1. Everyone who shits on you is not necessarily your enemy.
2. Everyone who gets you out of the shit is not necessarily your friend.
3. And, if you're warm and happy in a pile of shit, keep your mouth shut!!!
